Frequently asked questions
Licence, VPS, brokers, settings: answers to what comes up most.
The software
What is Botty the bot exactly?
Botty is Windows software that reads the signals posted in your Telegram channels and places the matching orders on your MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or cTrader account. It applies your risk rules and then manages the trade through to the close.
Does Botty decide the trades for me?
No. Botty issues no signals and makes no trading decisions. It executes what the traders you chose to follow publish, according to the settings you defined.
Which platforms and brokers does Botty work with?
Botty executes on MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and cTrader, and works with every broker offering those platforms. The available symbols are your broker’s: Forex, indices, commodities and others.
How many Telegram channels can I follow?
As many as you like — there is no limit. You can set the risk separately for each channel.
What if the signal arrives as an image?
Botty handles trade messages in every format, including those posted as images.
Which languages is the interface in?
English, French, Spanish and Italian. Other languages are available on request.
The VPS
What is a VPS?
A VPS is a Windows virtual machine hosted on a remote computer that never shuts down. You connect to it as you would your own computer, from any device.
Is a VPS mandatory?
Technically no, but Botty only copies a signal if it is running when the message arrives. A personal computer sleeps, restarts, loses its connection — and the signal is gone. That is why we strongly recommend a VPS.
Do you offer an inexpensive VPS?
We recommend InterServer, whose VPS plans suit Botty. Our installation tutorials are written for that host, step by step.
How do I install Botty on a VPS?
In three steps: buy the VPS, connect to it from your device, then install Botty on it. Every step is documented on video and as a PDF on our VPS page.
Can I use Botty from a Mac, an Android or an iPhone?
Yes, indirectly. Botty is still Windows software, but once installed on a VPS you control it remotely from macOS, Android or iOS using Microsoft’s Windows App.
Licence and subscription
How much does Botty cost?
The Botty the bot licence is €24.99 per month, €59.99 per quarter or €199.99 per year. The features are the same in all three plans.
What is the difference between Botty and Botty Premium?
Botty the bot is the copier on its own: you connect the Telegram channels you already follow. Botty Premium adds access to our own signal channels on Forex, gold and cryptocurrencies, from €39.99 per month.
Do updates cost extra?
No. Every new version and improvement is included in the licence.
How does payment work?
Payment is handled by Stripe. You are taken to a secure checkout page and receive your licence once it goes through.
Settings and execution
How is risk calculated?
Either as a percentage of equity or as a fixed lot. The setting applies globally, per Telegram channel or per symbol, and the risk can be divided across the number of take profits, up to five.
Does Botty manage the trade after it opens?
Yes. Smart Entry moves to breakeven after a set number of pips, Smart TP does so as soon as the first take profit is hit, and the Smart Trailing Stop lets the stop follow the trend. Botty also applies the instructions the trader sends: secure, breakeven, partial close, close.
Can I avoid trading during economic announcements?
Yes. You can refuse trades around announcements, close open positions before one, and restrict trading to particular hours or dates.
Can I switch automatic trading off remotely?
Yes, with Telegram commands. The /help command lists the ones available.
The next signal, Botty can place it for you
Install the software, connect your channels, set your risk. The rest runs without you.
